Ceremony Overview
Attendance at the iSchool ceremony is optional. Undergraduate students must submit a graduation application. Once approved to graduate, students who wish to participate must RSVP through Tassel, the School of Information's RSVP, ticketing, and graduation communications platform.
Information about Tassel will be sent to approved students starting in late February and will be sent to official
my.utexas.edu email accounts linked to each student's EID.
Before the Ceremony (Graduate Instructions)
Graduates must complete the RSVP process in Tassel by April 12. Important reminders will be sent via email leading up to the ceremony, including check-in instructions and ceremony logistics.
Academic regalia is strongly encouraged and may be purchased through the UT Co-op graduation page. Review all ceremony instructions before arrival to ensure a smooth check-in process.
- Check-in begins at 2:00 p.m. at the Bass Concert Hall loading dock and closes at 2:30 p.m.
- Students should enter through the Bass Concert Hall loading dock.
- Due to heavy traffic, use an alternative nearby drop-off location when possible.
- Regalia must be carried into Bass Concert Hall, not worn. Do not bring your regalia on a hanger. During check in and security scanning, regalia must be shaken to demonstrate no prohibited items on person.
- Graduates and guests will pass through metal detectors before entering the venue.
The college convocation ceremonies will be livestreamed to allow the moment to be shared with extended family and friends.
Graduate Entry: Use the Bass Concert Hall Loading Dock
All graduates should report to this loading dock entrance for check-in between 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Photos
Flash Photography will take a stage-crossing photo and an individual posed photo shortly after. Flash will email proofs directly after the ceremony. If purchased, photo orders are handled through Flash.
